For those of you who know and love Alex, you know and love the fact that he is one of the luckiest blokes you'll ever meet. And to somehow justify or explain his uncanny fortune we Osborne people ascribe it to a lucky horse-shoe which at some point lodged itself in an unseemly part of his body. I'm not sure why it ended up there, I'm new to the family lore, but no matter where it is, it's up there for good.
Yes, my man passed the final step of the Foreign Service Exam! Yahoo!!! He's been given a "conditional offer of hire" which means that if he passes his background check, he's in. From what I currently understand, once the background check is cleared we then get an 18 month period to pack up our life and head out to D.C. for a few years of training.
I couldn't be more proud! An of coarse we can't just attribute Alex's success to his lucky-horse shoe. I think it also has something to do with his magical facial-hair-growing-capacity:
I'm proud of you baby, now get your bootie back here; horse-shoe and all.
