Today was uncharacteristically wet so I decided to make the most of it and hit up one of Canberra's many museums. I went to the National Museum of Australia which is a very funky museum depicting Australia's history from the dawn of time until now. It was enlightening in addition to being gratis, which is always a perk. Most of the day there was just a misty sprinkle so I decided to walk home. Much to my surprise I was caught in a crazy down-pour and came home soaked. Honestly, life would be so much less interesting with a car :-).
Anyway, I was all pumped for Alex's arrival home tomorrow and was in the process of making congratulatory posters and what not. Sadly, Delta has disappointed us and Alex has had delays all the way back. He's stuck in L.A. until tomorrow night. I guess it's a hidden blessing because he'll get to spend the day with Bri, Kirst, and the Beans. Again, life would be so much less interesting if airlines were always on time. I can make it, one more day.
The only thing that has gotten me through this week has been my friend Samantha Standley and our several sleep-overs, lunches, movie marathons, making hot coco and Lamingtons etc. Sam, looks like I'll be coming over tomorrow too.
I'm glad you are making the most of Canberra this weekend - who knows how many more you'll have?! We are so happy to for you and Al - you guys are on your way to a life of adventure!
