Another nice email from Dad this week, could not help but share;
"I tell you truthfully that I love being a parent. You are the hero, the giver, the protector, the teacher. You are in the business of guiding young people to lives of greater meaning, effectiveness, and purpose. When done well, what ego cannot but thrive on that. You are the recipient of unconditional love, of tender things said out of the innocence of childhood. You get to be around unrestrained youth, which has always been a great deal of fun and despite the research to the contrary. Being a parent has always brought me my greatest happiness. It is the most real thing I have ever done and it has been wildly satisfying. I know you have to scratch underneath the superficial to get there, and it is not often articulated well, but being a parent is beautiful, even though it is rough."

My parents are beautiful people.
I agree Morgan. Your parents are beautiful people. Your father's words inspired me. I look forward to when I get to be a parent myself(, whenever that might be). I don't think I'll ever understand how much my parents love me until then...
ReplyDeleteSo what I wanted to say was: This post made me smile, and feel grateful for family bonds!
Your dad truly has a way with words. :) That was lovely.
ReplyDeleteDarling pictures! Wonderful and very sweet little note from your dad!
ReplyDeleteThose pics are SO sweet! It's fun to see them at our age. You're dad is really cool. You don't hear stuff like that often. I wish more people talked about how awesome it is to be a parent. Thanks for posting!
