The Big Apple

Hello New York!  Mom's expiring frequent flier miles,  Morgan's expiring motivation for school, and expiring Mother/Daughter opportunities before the oceanic gap in April= AMAZING WEEKEND TOGETHER IN NYC!  Could we be any luckier!  We think not.
*And to make this trip even more magical, it rained the entire time- even poured!
AMAZING WEEKEND TOGETHER IN NYC+ RAIN= MAGIC ADVENTURES

The first few things we gawked at upon arriving in New York.

First steps, EVER, onto the streets of Manhattan! Boy o boy do I love stepping into a New City.

My mama had this vision of us in "our" New York city apartment eating Chinese food out of the box and listening to the traffic outside- Just like in the movies! So we did it!!! Unfortunately they only gave us one box, the rest was in plastic containers- Ha! oh, well.

Here are some fotos of our most excellent studio apartment- DOWNTOWN!  Off 4th and 30th- Amazing location!  If you need anyone to help you find amazing accommodation deals, talk to my mother- she's incredible.

We had umbrellas with us almost the entire time.  They provided endless entertainment in addition to everything else wonderful and spectacular in New York.

This is at ground zero. wow.

We just couldn't get enough of Lady Liberty.  I can honestly say, the Statue of Liberty is REAL- no matter what anyone tells you.

Like I said... endless entertainment

We witnessed several ingenious parking lots- only in New York.

The Metropolitan Museum of Art was spectacular.  I highly recommend it to anyone!  Here are a few pics of some of my favorites.

I was so worth going to the Met, even if we had to brave the torrential rains!

Again... endless entertainment :-)

We got to see and Ensemble by the New York Philharmonic.  We both like the string quartet's performance best (not photo above- they were good too but the strings were better). Awesome awesome awesome!

Central Park was fantastic!  I think, if you lived here, visiting it frequently would be the only way to survive the concrete jungle that is New York.  We both LOVED it.

Toy store in down town NYC- pretty fantastic.

Broken umbrellas were everywhere all over the city.  People here don't mess around- if your umbrella doesn't work, just toss it, its of no use except to possibly provide some entertainment by tripping up the people walking behind you.

Gourmet macaroni and cheese at 'SMAC.

I love this picture.

My peruvian comrades playing "modern incan music" in the subway- very cool.

Mom getting ready in the morning.

The roof of our place.

Biggest vintage store in NYC.  It wasn't so cheap after all but it was fun to look around.

I'm not kidding when I say endless entertainment. Really, they are really really funny.

Times Square

3 days in New York: a visit to ground zero, a boat tour around Manhattan island, walking around Soho and St. Mark's Place, attending "The Glass Menagerie" and the New York Philharmonic, a visit to the Met, a stroll around Central Park, church downtown, pizza off the street, jumping the subway entrance, being serenaded by a subway bum, endless laughter at the expense of our umbrellas, and lots and lots of good conversations.  So much crammed into 3 days and we still have a list of things we want to do when we come back.  What a city, by george, what a city.  So long New York, thanks for the memories.
